Ready, set, go..!Short URL
As you might have seen I decided to archive my previous blog and launch a new one, this time with a bit more focus on typography and the ability of transforming each post into something a bit more personal and blogazine-ish. Someone might ask why, and the reason being my upcoming departure to San Francisco, and the beginning of a new year.
In a few days I will be moving from Oslo to San Francisco in order to pursue a career in Webdesign and New Media at the Academy of Art University. Therefore I decided it would be a good idea to put up a blog dedicated only to my upcoming experiences and a few worksamples as they come along. There is also a notes section dedicated to less personal rabblings that might come in handy for one and another sometime.
The old wordpress driven blog is still up at http://2009.kimellefsen.com should you be looking for the old stuff.
Like the old blog I’ll be writing my articles in english, though if you’d like feel free to leave comments in norwegian, and I would also advice you to get a gravatar associated with your e-mail address.

I’m going to respond on the design :)
Awesome design, dude. A cold, minimalist theme focused on content. I believe this became the trend of the last quarter of 2009 and we’ll see more websites like this in 2010. Excellent work!
Only two things are bugging me. It’s the text-shadow of the h1-tag. I find it hard to see, even on a LED display. Is that the purpose? And lastly, it’s the retweet-button which is off the grid.
Summary: I’m in love.

Thanks mate, I really appreciate it!
I’m aware about the text-shadow not being visible, and the idea was to ensure that the h1 would still be visible if I decide to use dark background images on the body element. Sounds tacky, but I’ll make it right, or remove the shadow. I just need to get the right pictures taken, and then each post will be able to have it’s own background image. Blogazine-ish but not as radical and flexible as Jason Santa Maria and Dustin Curtis.. Think it will look cool once done, but still a bit of tweaking left.
I agree with you on the retweet button, will adjust it I think..
And as always, content is king :)
