So I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.. Haven’t felt like blogging for the last couple of days. Nothing wrong, you just want to skip it some times..
What have I been up to? – Well I had my first day of class on monday. It’s called Digital Photography 1, and the main goal is to learn how to take good pictures without having to use Photoshop every time in order to get the result that you would want, and off course we’ll be learning about proper lighting and stuff. My teacher seems really cool, he talks a lot, but seem to know what he is talking about, so it should be fun.
Right now I’m working on the first assignment which is to take a picture with three objects, or something involving three, the number or whatever. So I have to find some way of making something creative and original with three something, and take a picture of it.. Shouldn’t be to hard, but since it’s my first class and all, I’m having kind of a hard time figuring out what to do..
The next class isn’t before next monday, so I still have time to figure out what to do..
Today I had my first class of Sketching for Communication, which was ok. It’s nice to just sit and draw doodles and some basic perspectives etc. Should be fun. I had to buy markers swell, so hopefully we don’t get too much into things I’ve done before.. So we’ll see..
On saturday we went on the Ultra City tour of San Francisco, and off course I managed to bring only my camera without any batteries, so still no pictures for you my friends. :)
I’m sort of getting settled now. I got my american visa in the mail yesterday, my roommate seems to be a cool guy, I’ve purchased the most basic stuff for my room, and I found the closest Cala Foods store, so I should be fine at least for a while.
Yesterday I had to take a cab to the UPS customer facility to pick up a few things I ordered off Amazon for school, and the reason I had to go there was because UPS aren’t fitted with phones so there is no way for them to get a hold of me even though I’m just inside the building.. And so when you are expecting 6 packages, this could get pretty difficult dealing with after a while, so I had to go down there in order to get my first two. It wasn’t too expensive, I only paid about $20 including tip all together, so it won’t kill me when I have to go back there next monday/tuesday to get the remaining four. It’s just some basic stuff for school, such as a 50mm Canon lens for my camera, and I always wanted a Drobo for storage, so now I won’t have to think about losing files again for a while, and a few books off course.
It’s pretty warm here now, I’m guessing about 13-14 C.. So I basically just need a hoodie or my soft-shell jacket to stay warm, so I can’t say I miss that about norway just yet..
I’m also stopping by the Apple Store pretty much every day, but I can’t decide wether to buy a Mac Mini with a Cinema Display or an iMac.. They aren’t too expensive, and it would be great not having to sit on my laptop working every day, especially as my hard drive is close to failing on me.. Smart status isn’t very happy with me, so I’m basically just waiting to see what I might need for school before I decide to buy anything.. My money won’t last forever, and I guess the maclab on campus is pretty up do date also, so at the time I really don’t need anything more unless my laptop decides to call it a day.. We’ll see, I’m not in a hurry, I just miss having a spare computer to put my stuff on.
I had a long talk with Øyvind last night, and they were supposed to order their San Fran plane-tickets today, but I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m looking forward to having my friends and Mari over here this summer. I just realized today that I’ll be here for the next year and a half, which in a way goes by very fast, but it’s also quite a while when you think about it.. Not in a sad way, I just came to think about it. I’ll try and do some freelance work over here as well, so I guess things will be good. It’s weird not having to go to work every day also :)
Don’t freak out about the title of this post, it’s just a really good song by a band called “The Script”. It’s just to set the mood :)

Take care, love farmor

Hei Kim. Godt å “se” fra deg igjen. Fint at du har det bra. Skulle du ende opp med å gå på en smell på Apple Store, får du “fri litt” til Farmor da vet du. Ikke sant Farmor? :-)
Vi hørs Kim. Take care…!!!
